Peonies in the CopperVase

The weekend before I painted this Alla Prima piece in my studio

I painted another piece while standing in the peony fields. These

blooms are short lived typically and offer a very delicate palette

of colors within each unique flower. In this setting they are just below

my big window set on a table and lace cloth from my grandmother's

house. The copper vase I acquired long ago. I love the colors, reflections

its surface offers to the bouquet and I use it often in paintings because

of its shape.
