CRYSTAL SPRINGS POND

In the heat of summer one of the most refreshing places to paint is

in the lower pond at The Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden

located across the street from Reed College. There hundreds of birds

fly in: a variety of ducks, migrating geese, nesting Bald Eagles to name

a few. There is often a breeze there by the pond and it is easy to lose

track of time altogether. The reflections of the late blooming Rhodies

caught my eye on this particular day.
